Thomas Keller, the legendary seven Michelin-starred chef, opens his first Bouchonm Bakery in Duubai
And we’re excited. The man behind the French Laundry and Per Se has opened a bakery at The Beach, JBR.
The new venue is set to become a morning routine staple, with a wide selection of breakfast beverages and pastries, bound to put a stop to that morning jog. Chef Keller’s custom-blended ‘TK by Equator’ coffee, espresso, iced or traditional teas, or hand-crafted hot chocolate all counteract the chilly over-air conditioned office.
The menu includes sandwiches, soups, quiches and salads, in addition to the brand’s famed artisanal breads and Viennoiseries.
French classics include the semolina almond financier, rosewater Paris brest, and divine lemon tarts. Share the best of Bouchon Bakery with a selection of light macarons in seven different flavours – including ever-popular pistachio, and the exclusive local flavour of coconut and saffron.
Keller’s famous TKO cookie (Thomas Keller Oreo) or Bouchon Bakery’s signature Bouchons – rich, chocolatey petite brownies filled with semi-sweet chocolate morsels are also well worth the calories.
Identified by its warm green façade and antique cast iron street lamp, Bouchon Bakery’s interiors have been created by famed designer Adam D. Tihany, a long-time friend and collaborator of Chef Keller’s. The bakery is a traditional interpretation of a French boulangerie, mirroring Keller’s twist on classical French / American cuisine.
Antique wall sconces add a warm interior glow, while original Tihany-designed chairs are placed upon classic wood flooring. For the cooler months, there’s an expansive outdoor seating area, fitted with classic Maison Gatti bistro chairs, and strategically placed planters that provide plenty of privacy.
