Mesclun

Young shoots, lettuces, herbs and leaves used in a salad. It originated in Provence, France, and literally means mixture. It is said the term arrived in the 70s, after farmers in Nice took their best selection of prized leaves to market, the most authentic combination being baby dandelion, lettuce and arugula. Today, it’s available pre-packed at the supermarket, and often used as a garnish when plating food.
