Bombay Bungalow offers new approach to Indian cuisine

Re-brand and new menu for JBR The Walk stalwart

JBR’s popular dining spot House of Curry is now known as Bombay Bungalow, having completed an exciting rebrand. With the same management and international culinary team, the rebrand includes a new menu specially designed to attract food lovers from all corners of the globe with a burst of innovative Indian flavours.

The restaurant – established in 2014 – has been re-thought to reflect the changing nature of Indian food, by appealing to a wider international audience, with a contemporary menu and charismatic design.

The laid-back, beach side venue adds a creative touch to traditional Indian cuisine by fusing classic recipes with universally-recognised ingredients. With a menu designed by international chef consultant Hari Nayak, the result is a lighter array of recognisable dishes,  perfect for sharing as part of a more social dining experience.

Among the menu’s enticing signatures is burrata butter chicken, a first from not only from Bombay Bungalow but from any other Indian restaurant in the world, which incorporates familiar influences from India and Italy. Other eclectic delights include Gruyere pav bhaji fondue, calamari bhel fritters and grilled seabass served with lemon quinoa, as well as a raita tray prepared with an individual choice of ingredients.

Reminiscent of Mumbai’s historic bungalows, the nostalgic décor creates a “home away from home” feeling that is brought to life through Indian inspired-architecture, art and accessories. Diners are invited into the homely atmosphere day and night for a quick bite to eat or a leisurely meal with family and friends.

Pallav Patel, one of the entrepreneurs behind Bombay Bungalow explains: “Our aim is to bring the best of India to everyone by creating more universal appeal. The restaurant offers a new approach to the traditional Indian experience, where you can sit back and indulge in a simpler way, without compromising on the quality of food or standard of service. We hope the JBR branch will become a firm neighbourhood favourite, and the first of many Bombay Bungalows across the UAE.”

Bombay Bungalow also offers lunch and dinner delivery menus available through the leading apps Zomato and Deliveroo, ideal for the hot summer months when Dubai residents want restaurant quality food in the comfort of their own home or office.
